Mgr. Pavel Čižinský
Attorney-at-law
About me
I studied law and political science at Charles University and have been practicing law since 2009. I specialize in all legal issues involving foreign nationals residing in the Czech Republic (i.eRight of entry and residency, asylum/international protection, citizenship, health insurance for foreigners, pensions/social security benefits, trade licensing/business activities, etc.). Over the years, I have achieved a number of precedent-setting decisions, such as resolving the problem of uninsurable foreign newborns and obtaining compensation for damages caused by delays in the processing of residence permits by the Czech Ministry of the Interior.
In addition to immigration law issues, I also help clients with virtually all other legal problems including but not limited to: property, family, labor, criminal, and misdemeanor matters. I am proud of some of my successes in defending the rights of people working in precarious labor relations, such as ensuring that people working in the so-called "švarcsystém" have certain rights under the Labor Code. In municipal law, I succeeded in having the first local referendum declared by the Supreme Administrative Court, which took place in the Prague 7 District. Subsequently, in 2018, I entered municipal politics as the leader of the winning group in the district of Prague 1 and then served as mayor of this district for more than a year. I also deal with the legal status of municipalities and all related issues, including construction law and large development projects.
I also provide legal services in German and English.
